Take Public Transportation To Your Next San Diego Event.

Plan It Green is excited to see these new busses implemented into the San Diego MTS fleet. Mass transit is taking on new a new shape and in GREEN fashion! San Diego MTS purchased 26 of the buses using Federal dollars and State Proposition 1B funds, which was approved by voters in November 2006. Manufactured by North American Bus Industries (NABI), the 26 buses cost $20.4 million and feature wide doors, low floors, a wheelchair ramp, seating for 57 people, and two places for people using wheelchairs.

Carpooling Can Help Reduce Your Event’s Carbon Footprint!

Do your bit to reduce pollution, traffic congestion and help the environment. One of our many challenges planning events is the effort to get people to and from the locations of an event, lodging and airports. We look at public transportation to reduce event costs and the next option is always a transportation vendor that will have an effect on the bottom line. However, with the economy on everyone’s mind and the ever tightening event budgets, we suggest really looking at the effects of carpooling.

White House Tries To Do Its Part To Green Up Holiday Events

Laura Bush announced she is trying to do her part to green up the holiday events at the White House this year.

In addition to reusing ornaments from prior years, she also said the lights on the trees in the White House will have low-energy LED bulbs, and she encouraged Americans to use them when their holiday lights wear out to save energy.

More than 60,000 visitors are expected to visit the White House for tours, with 25 holiday receptions and seven dinners planned.
